JUNK AND PROCESSED FOODS: Dangers Inherent In Their Consumption!
Junk foods(Non-foods): What are they?
NON-FOODS or Junk foods are devitalized and refined processed foods with chemicals concocted by chemist and food science technologist that are packaged with sweet flavours for the vast majority of people to consume which are deleterious and inimical to the human health as opposed to natural unprocessed or unrefined foods.
Microbiology: Junk Foods are processed foods that enhance and promote the growth and proliferation of harmful bacteria, yeast or microorganisms at the detriment of useful bacteria/ microorganisms in the human gut/gastrointestinal tract(GIT): they are the foods that had undergone synthetic and biochemical modifications which removed their vital and nutritious components, leaving behind fractionated and devitalized simple sugar components which inundate and overwhelm the digestive with excessive amount of devitalized fractionated simple sugars which harmful bacteria/microorganisms feed on and ferment in the gut/GIT releasing harmful or toxic byproduct of fermentation into the gut/GIT, that attack the gut/GIT and every point in the human body systems where they are lodged eliciting or producing hypersensitive or damaging inflammatory responses from the human immune system resulting in inflammation, autoimmune diseases, obesity, diabetes, nervous disorders, osteoporosis, tooth decay etc.
NON-FOODS or Junk foods are synthetic, artificial, processed byproducts of real/ natural foods which cause or develop diseases in the human body!
Examples of NON-FOODS or Junk foods are soft drinks (sodas, fizzy drinks), artificial sweeteners(Aspartame), refined white sugar, refined white flour, HFCS(high fructose corn syrup), preservatives, food dyes or colouring.
Natural Foods or Real foods: what are they?
Natural Foods or real foods are unprocessed, untainted naturally occurring products of plants and animals which do not produce or augment disease conditions in the human body which Jehovah God had made for human consumption.
Examples of Natural foods or real foods are fruits, cereals, vegetables, unprocessed meat, cowpeas, nuts, corms, tuber crops, sugar cane etc., all in their natural untainted forms.
Junk foods or NON-FOODS have become the normal staple food for consumption of the masses, because of the ease of access to them.
They come loaded with flavours, artificial sweeteners, and preservatives which when added together pose great danger to the public health in the incidence of debilitating chronic diseases such as Diabetes, Cancer, Asthma, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism, autoimmune diseases, organ failure, nervous disorders, osteoporosis, ulcers, acid reflux, inflammation( inflammatory diseases) etc., that they produce in the human body.
It all seems or appear as a mystery that the world face staggering incidents of chronic diseases in this age, which till today, the physicians and scientist have failed to fathom, though in the centuries that had passed, the majority of these debilitating chronic diseases were not the order of the day from records and history when NON-FOODS have not become the staple of the masses!
Now, how come that with advancement in technology and knowledge, the human race had not been able to get to the root of chronic diseases like cancer, autism, asthma, autoimmune diseases etc.? All of these debilitating illnesses seems like mystery to the physicians, but most of the cases of these diseases boil down to one common factor which carries other culprits along with it, in the incidence of these debilitating human diseases, and that factor is -Junk foods or NON-FOODS!
Should we really(health wise) be consuming Soft and Alcoholic drinks?
The nutritional requirements and the needs of the human body had already been catered for in nature by God in the provision of all the classes of food needed by our bodies for normal uptimum performance of their functions in the presence and abundance of food products from green plants in the series of fruits, tuber crops, cowpeas, nuts, cereals, vegetables, corms, and oils with animal products such as milk, meat(unprocessed), and fats(natural): which when combined together in the right proportion(balanced diet) will not produce diseases in the human body, but rather bring or augment wellness or good health.
The Aberration And The Diseases
The aberration now come, when we ditch what God had provided to meet our body needs and we now choose concocted chemicals( NON-FOODS) over natural unprocessed foods which our body need to perform uptimally.
What usually happens when human being ditch natural unprocessed foods for concocted(NON-FOODS) are the diseases of this age like cancer, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, artherosclerosis, asthma, inflammatory diseases, acid reflux, organ failure etc.
A matter of gravity to be considered for our wellbeing!
The presence and the proliferation of many of these diseases can become a thing of the past if we make the decision to leave alone NON-FOODS(processed foods) such as soft drinks(fizzy drinks/ sodas), alcoholic drinks, and decide to cook what we eat, and take succulent fruits instead of fizzy drinks and alcohol.
What is Pathetic and Addicting?
What is pathetic to know is this fact: billions of human being were and are born into NON-FOODS: grown and nurtured with processed foods, and this conditioning had made the consumption of NON-FOODS(food producing diseases in the human body) to become the normal staple for us, though the debilitating effects are visible for everyone to see in the incidence of chronic diseases as earlier mentioned that they develop in the human body.
An example of this conditioning:
I was once privileged to intimate this information to one of my lecturers in the university, who said that the necessary actions will be taken due to the lecturer had been privileged to witness in the life of a relative suffering from diabetes, but later told me that NON-FOODS e.g. fizzy drinks are addicting and cannot let go of fizzy drinks ( for real, soft/ drinks are very addicting because of the refined and artificial sugars such as Aspartame and HFCS that they are filled with)

It is a great privilege when we are made to know the negative effects of what we are exposed to in our daily food consumption. But what is of great importance and fortune, is when we avail ourselves of this great privilege by taking drastic actions to avoid the negative effects in the short and the long run in light of the dire consequences that the consumption of NON-FOODS bring about in the human body with regards to the aforementioned diseases of NON-FOODS!
